What You Will Learn from Seminar

Our programs blend faith and science for a complete healing experience. Discover the root causes of addiction, understand its science, and gain practical recovery tools. Build a supportive network to strengthen your journey towards lasting change.

Stop Hiding Start Healing's unique combination of faith and medication will provide participants with a holistic approach to recovery. You will learn how to integrate your personal beliefs and with evidence-based medical practices. This integrated approach can offer a more comprehensive and supportive strategy for overcoming addiction.

You will learn how to explore the underlying emotional, psychological, and environmental factors that contribute to your addiction. By understanding the root causes, you can begin to address the core issues that have led to your addictive behaviors. How well do you know you? Developing self-awareness is crucial for effective and sustainable healing.

Understanding the science of compulsive use of chemicals or behaviors is the basis to make sense of the frustrating and chaotic behavior often associated with addiction. Interestingly enough, it is also quite helpful in understanding the mechanism and potential pitfalls of walking away from whatever the drug of choice is. Understanding the disease model most commonly used in modern addiction medicine helps medical professionals, clergy, and lay people with a framework to conquering what is often the most challenging season of a person’s
Life.
Is using medications to treat addiction helpful or simply trading one drug for
another one? In this section we will explore the various forms of medication most frequently used in addiction medicine – their uses, benefits, and potential downsides. Additionally, we will tackle the concept of “Harm Reduction” and determine if it can serve us in helping those seeking freedom from the bondage of addiction, or is it simply encouraging use of the drugs we are hoping to get rid of? Spoiler alert - the answers aren’t as black and white as we wished they would be.

You will acquire practical recovery strategies to manage triggers, cravings, and stressors that can lead to relapse. You will learn how to depend on your faith for strength and resilience while also utilizing medication and therapeutic techniques to navigate challenging moments. This comprehensive approach empowers individuals to better handle the ups and downs of recovery.

Attending the Stop Hiding Start Healing seminar will help you connect with others who are on a similar journey. You will learn the importance of building a strong support network that includes both faith-based communities and medical professionals. This network can provide encouragement, accountability, and a sense of belonging, all of which are essential for sustained healing. Meet representatives from Celebrate Recovery, Life Recovery Groups, NAMI, Rehabilitation Facilities, The Dunamis Effect and Stop Hiding Start Healing
